The 'I Need You' trio, who release the new record on November 16, said that they are more concerned about securing strong overall sales.
"We're more worried about shifting units than any chart position. Album sales are so important," Dappy told the Daily Star.
Tulisa added: "I learnt that last year with our debut album Uncle B, which went in at number five and then dropped.
"I cried because I thought records only sold in the first few weeks, but then I realised it's all about overall sales."
Dappy recently revealed that the new LP includes "epic and clubby" sounding songs.
N-Dubz's debut album Uncle B was released in November 2008 and has sold over 500,000 copies.
