Jerry Fuchs has died in a lift accident in Williamsburg, NY.
According to the New York Post, the former !!! (chk chk chk) drummer passed away following a fall at a fundraising party in the early hours of November 8.
Buildings Department spokesman Tony Sclafani said: "It's a manual freight elevator, and it stopped somewhere above the fifth floor."
Fuchs and a friend reportedly opened the door and attempted to jump the distance between the lift and the floor.
While the friend navigated the leap safely, the musician's clothing is believed to have become caught on the lift, pulling him backwards and down the gap.
Fuchs was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3.30am.
