Celebrated jazz musician Stacy Rowles has died from unspecified complications following a car accident last month.
Rowles, a trumpeter, fluegelhorn player and singer, was involved in the collision on October 13, Contactmusic reports.
She later passed away on October 27 at her home in California, according to her sister Stephanie, who did not elaborate on the cause of death.
Stacy, 54, played regularly in several all-female jazz groups, including the Jazz Birds and Maiden Voyage. Daughter of jazz legend Jimmy, she first rose to prominence on the Los Angeles jazz scene in the 1980s.
The father-daughter duo together recorded her 1984 album Tell It Like It Is and their 1992 duet LP Looking Back, among others.
The pair also often played live together until shortly before his death in 1996. In addition to her sister, she is also survived by her brother Gary.
