John Mayer has spoken out in defence of Britney Spears for lip-synching throughout an Australian gig.
The 'Gravity' singer, who is also in the country to promote his latest album, slammed fans who called for a refund following Spears's show in Perth after she sparked outrage by not singing live during her performance.
Mayer wrote on his Twitter page: "If you're shocked that Britney was lip-synching at her concert and want your money back, life may continue to be hard for you."
Spears reportedly hid in her hotel room following the concert and is said to have been "extremely upset" at her fans' reaction.
On Friday, an Australian MP stated that ticket agencies should warn the public when stars are planning to mime.
