The 'Confusion Girl' singer, who is currently working on the follow-up to debut Complete Me, admitted that he hoped for more longevity in the music industry than the 'Bulletproof' duo.
"If you look at someone like La Roux, who's done so well so soon, how are you going to pull off the second album?" he told T5m.
"You're never going to match the exposure. I want longevity, and I feel that I've got a second chance with my next album."
The 25-year-old, who dropped out of a degree course at London School of Fashion after one year, insisted that he was happier being in the music industry.
"The degree worked for about a year and then I realised I'd rather lose everything and start again with the full passion. I'd rather fail at something I believed in," he said.
He added: "As soon as my nan saw me on the TV and my mum saw the album, they're happy".
Frankmusik recently confirmed that his next album is called Follow The Leader and "will have a Parental Advisory notice on it due to very explicit lyrics".
