The singer, whose new record Reality Killed The Video Star is up against JLS's self-titled debut for the album top spot, claimed that they each deserve to get to number one.
"I do like the boys, they seem nice boys... they do their job really well. They kind of deserve the number one," he told Radio 1.
"No, can I just backtrack a little bit...? I deserve it. The blood, sweat and tears, the rehab trips."

Robbie has battled drug dependency in the past and was most recently admitted to a facility in Arizona in 2007 to help deal with his prescription addictions.
