The singer released her fourth LP Colour Me Free! last month after several delays.
Stone told Metro: "Everyone, including my record label EMI, has been telling me it's such a bad record and messed me around with the release date.
"I'd kind of let go of my feelings and couldn't give a f**k. But I loved the songs and I was passionate about releasing them."
She added: "They told me the album wasn't commercial enough. I understand they are running a business, but I couldn't give a f**k about churning out No.1 pop hits.
"I was doing something I believed in. I got my way but with a catch - no budget - well that's fine by me."
