Harris, who topped the Christmas charts 40 years ago with 'Two Little Boys', penned the track about his memories of growing up in Western Australia and eating roast turkey in hot weather.
Released on December 7, it will compete against the X Factor winner's single, which has claimed the top spot for the past four years.
Speaking about Status Quo's input, Harris, 79, told the BBC: "They came up with musical surprises and guitar rhythms that sent shivers up and down my spine. These guys have given me everything I wanted - a positive, hard-driving sound, lively and bouncing with good times, laughter and tons of fun."
Quo guitarist Rick Parfitt joked: "Forget Rock 'n' Roll, this is Rick 'n' Rolf. This is a great track that we will be playing for years to come."
The song is taken from new compilation album It's Christmas Time, which also features tracks by Slade, Girls Aloud, Lady GaGa and Bing Crosby.
