In a new interview with MTV, the former Oasis frontman revealed that he has been demoing a number of tracks with fellow ex-bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Zak Starkey.
Following the band's split in August, Gallagher has been vocal about his ambitions to continue with music. He recently stated that he was looking to put a new group together after becoming unsure about the idea of going solo.
However, the singer has now explained that he is a "million per cent" confident that his solo songs are better than anything Oasis released.
"We've been demoing some songs that we've had on the quiet," he said. "After Christmas we might go in the studio and record it and hopefully have an album out in July. We'll do it in a different kind of way now. I'll try and reconnect with a new band, new songs and I'm feeling confident about the songs. I'm feeling a million per cent confident that they could be better than Oasis."
He also admitted that he still thinks of his brother Noel, adding: "I love him to bits but we just don't get on. Me and our kid have never been that close anyway. Alright, we were in the band but we kept ourselves to each other, he'd do his thing and I'd do my thing, I've got my friends, he's got his friends.
"We'd only sort of hang out when we were on tour. We didn't have a solid relationship, but we both thought Oasis was great."
