Salt-N-Pepa, Grandmaster Flash for Bloc

WENN

Salt-N-Pepa have been announced as one of the first acts for next year's Bloc festival.

The trio of Cheryl 'Salt' James, Sandra 'Pepa' Denton and DJ Spinderella Deidra 'Dee Dee' Roper are joined on the bill by Ms Dynamite, Wiley, Roots Manuva, Surgeon, hip-hop pioneer Grandmaster Flash and more.

Organisers said: "Oh wow - if it's not Salt-N-Pepa, the Grammy award-winning biggest-selling female rap group of all time, then it's Skream & Benga, the world's first dubstep megastars.

"And if it's not Autechre making music from the future obselete before it's even happened, then it's Derrick May, the living icon of Detroit techno sharing his sonic inventions with a new generation."

They added: "And even if it's none of that, it's either going to be Grandmaster Flash, the first individual in the galaxy to use turntables as an instrument bringing the sound of NYC - or it'll be Adam Beyer nailing the party to the wall."

Bloc 2010 takes place from March 12 to 14 at the Butlins Minehead Resort.
