The 'Run This Town' rapper, who headlined Glastonbury Festival in 2008, is expected to be joined on stage by either Alicia Keys, Chris Martin or Beyoncé.
"Jay-Z is confirmed as one of the key performers," a source told The Sun.
"In weak years there have been problems securing the big international artists. But knowing Jay-Z is there will help to secure other big acts now."
Robbie Williams is expected to close the show after collecting the 'Outstanding Contribution To Music' award.
The 30th anniversary Brit Awards takes place at London's Earls Court on February 16.
