This year saw Florence and the Machine shoot to fame with debut Lungs. The record's positive reception has motivated Welch to press on with a follow-up.
"We're recording the second album in January," she told BBC Newsbeat. "[We've] got the plan, I just want to start recording as soon as possible."
The 'You've Got The Love' singer also spoke about the band's success and insisted that fame has not changed her.
"I'm basically the same and everyone's like, 'Aren't you supposed to be some loaded popstar?' and I'm like, 'No, trust me I'm not, I get an allowance'.
"Life hasn't changed. I still get the bus. I have no cash cards so I'm pretty much broke and borrowing money still. My phone's broken, I'm still exactly the same," Welch added. "Sometimes I get scared by the exposure, scared by negative criticism but it's something you learn to deal with and take it less personally."
