The singer is allegedly meeting lawyers this week and has not ruled out suing Berrabah for recent comments she made in an interview, according to The Mirror.
"Keisha is really distressed. It's only her loyal fans that have stopped her from cracking up," a source told the newspaper.
Last week, Berrabah claimed that Buchanan almost ruined her career in the final months of the previous lineup.
Buchanan later wrote on Twitter that calling her a bully was a "serious allegation".
"To those who accuse others of being a bully for self gain, think first! It's a very serious allegation," she wrote.
Buchanan, who remained with record label Island after her departure from Sugababes in September, is currently working on her debut solo album.
