The 'Red' singer, whose debut Love And War was produced by Ronson, revealed that he is flying over to the US to start work on the new record.
"Mark is working on his second album at the moment, so I’m gonna fly over to New York and we’ll get in the studio and write something together," he told the Daily Star. "We are good mates and we’ll continue to work together."
Merriweather, who has previously admitted to using cocaine, added that fame has meant that he can afford to consume more alcohol.
"Apart from getting ridiculously drunk for four years, I wouldn't say my life had changed that much," he said.
