The former couple ended their relationship earlier this year after Brown physically assaulted the Rated R star.
In an interview with 20/20, the singer said: "I played the song ['Changed Man'] for her... a month after the situation. She called when she first heard the song.
"And I mean, I'm not trying to call her any liar or anything like that. But I played the song for her when I first wrote it. And she cried."
