Daniel Powter's 2005 hit 'Bad Day' has been named the biggest one-hit wonder of the decade.

The track, which was used as the kiss-off song on the fifth season of American Idol, came first in the list compiled by Billboard.

Despite spending five weeks at No. 1 in the US, Powter did not achieve any further chart success.

Other songs featured in the list include James Blunt's 'You're Beautiful' at 6, Lou Bega's 'Mambo No. 5' at 13 and Samantha Mumba's 'Gotta Tell You' in 20th place

The acts and songs were ranked by how high their hit single climbed on the Hot 100 compared to how far down the tally their subsequent highest-charting effort peaked.

The top ten one-hit wonder singles:

1. Daniel Powter: 'Bad Day'
2. Terror Squad: 'Lean Back'
3. Crazy Town: 'Butterfly'
4. MIMS: 'This Is Why I'm Hot'
5. D4L: 'Laffy Taffy'
6. James Blunt: 'You're Beautiful'
7. Gnarls Barkley: 'Crazy'
8. Blu Cantrell: 'Hit 'Em Up Style (Oops!)'
9. Bo Bice: 'Inside Your Heaven'
