The 'Day 'n' Nite' rapper was announced as the replacement for Kanye West, who axed plans for a joint tour with the 'Just Dance' singer in October.
Cudi started his support slot on the tour in Montreal last month, but was embroiled in controversy after allegedly attacking a fan who threw a wallet at him during a concert in Vancouver on Saturday.
"Kid Cudi has decided to take an early leave of absence from Lady GaGa's 'Monster Ball' tour, in order to balance his schedule surrounding the recording of his next album and acting commitments," a statement reads.
"Cudi does not want to disappoint his fans and will move forward with his individual show dates in December and throughout the month of January."
The 'Monster Ball' tour continues across cities in the US, including Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Miami, before concluding in New York on January 21.
