Rage Against The Machine has reportedly promised to thank fans with a free concert should its single 'Killing In The Name' make it to the Christmas number one.

The band's guitarist Tom Morello, who described the campaign to keep The X Factor winner Joe McElderry's debut single 'The Climb' off the top spot as a "grassroots revolt", said that they would even ask producer Simon Cowell to host the show.

According to The Sun, he said: "The clock is ticking. And if 'Killing in the Name' is number one we are coming. And it will be the victory party to end all victory parties."

Cowell earlier suggested that McElderry, who fought off the competition to take the top spot in Ireland, was the subject of an unfair "hate mob".
