The 23-year-old, whose album The Fame Monster topped UK charts in November, has already discussed how important her following is to her.
The star is quoted by The Sun as saying: "First and foremost, my favourite artists of 2009 were my fans.
"My fans were my favourites because every song I did, they remade on their own, and every photograph that I took, they took their own version of it.
"And they remade my music videos, they designed clothes for me. They wrote poetry and made films and designed all sort of amazing paintings.
"My fans are f**king really smart."
GaGa also reserved praise for Danish pop band Alphabeat.
"I really love Alphabeat, they're great and they're going to come out on tour with me next year," she added.
