Paul Weller has said that he thinks Oasis's split was a good thing for Noel and Liam Gallagher, and that he would be happy to work with either brother in the future.

The Jam's former frontman told NME that he liked both the Gallaghers "equally" and refused to pick sides in the wake of the group's break-up in August.

"Creatively, I think the Oasis split is going to be good thing," he said. "There's going to be some great things to come from both of them in the future. I'd definitely be up for collaborating with Liam and with Noel.

"I love them both equally, and think they’re both extremely talented in their own ways."

Weller is due to return with his latest album in early 2010, which features collaborations with My Bloody Valentine frontman Kevin Shields. He is also expected to play a residency at London's Royal Albert Hall in April.
