The 'L.E.S. Artistes' singer admitted that she was overwhelmed to work with the new wave group.
"It was amazing. They're my band idols. Them and The Smiths. I made them pull out the red hats and pose for a picture," she told Paste.
Santigold, who changed her name from Santogold following an alleged legal dispute, is expected to release her new record later this year.
Her self-titled debut, released in 2008, included production work from Bad Brains's Chuck Treece, Diplo, Disco D, Freq Nasty, Naeem Juwan, Sinden, Switch and Trouble Andrew.
