Reports over the weekend claimed that Davies, who runs one of Oasis's main fansites, had been enlisted to play bass in the fledgling outfit.
Posting on Stopcryingyourheartout.com, Davies denied the speculation, saying: "A story has appeared today in the News of the World falsely claiming that I'm joining Liam Gallagher's new band, and to start recording later this month at Abbey Road studios. Where they get there information from is beyond me."
Gallagher has previously confirmed that he is working alongside ex-Oasis associates Gem Archer, Andy Bell, Jay Darlington and Chris Sharrock in the group, tentatively titled Oasis 2.0.
He also declared last month that he hopes the band's first album will be released by this summer.
