Elbow 'making good progress on new LP'

The drummer claimed that the band want to build on the success of last LP The Seldom Seen Kid, which won the Mercury Prize in 2008.
"We're rabid for it," Jupp told NME. "The last one was astronomical for us. Using that springboard… I'd love to get the album finished and get it out on the road [before 2010 ends]."
Jupp insisted that the new record would not mark a significant departure from their previous sound, despite singer Guy Garvey recently claiming that the band were experimenting with psychedelia and shoegaze.
"Let's just say [Garvey's comments are] inaccurate," he said. "It's at an experimental stage. We're loving being back in the studio, it's really exciting. We're just ploughing through it now."
Elbow previously revealed that they aspire to achieve the same amount of success enjoyed by U2.
