In an interview with The Mirror, Graham spoke about filming the video for the band's new single 'Gave It All Away', which is released on March 1.
He added that Gately had worked on the song before he died in October.
"Stephen sings the opening line, 'I will learn to live before I die', and it just knocks us out each time we hear it," he explained. "Terrible and beautiful and weird at the same time. And it was so, so strange filming the video without him."
However, Graham also said that he is excited about releasing Boyzone's new album.
"I'd like to think that had Boyzone not broken up, this is the music we would have been making now," he explained. "I'm genuinely a big fan of the album. I don't want to sound over-confident or cocky, but it's the absolute truth."
Fellow Boyzone member Shane Lynch has previously compared the band's new sound to Coldplay and U2.
