The singer, who recently previewed new track 'Acapella' on her website, was reportedly impressed after hearing the 'Bulletproof' act during a recent trip to the UK.
"Kelis was over in London and heard the La Roux record, which she loved," a source told the Daily Star.
"She hooked up with Elly Jackson and Ben Langmaid to write and is hopeful the tracks will make her record."
Kelis recently secured a new record deal with will.i.am Music Group, a sub-division of Interscope Records.
Kelis has released four studio albums since 1999 debut Kaleidiscope. She has enjoyed eight UK Top 10 hits with tracks including 'Milkshake', 'Caught Out There' and 'Millionaire'.
