Leckie previously worked on The Stone Roses' self-titled 1989 debut LP and Radiohead's 1995 breakthrough record The Bends.
The group claimed that the departure of guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones in 2008 has slightly altered the overall sound of the new record.
"It's a bit different because Bill's left, but it still sounds like The Coral," frontman James Skelly told NME.
"There's no point trying to replace him or compete [as a guitarist], it's just a different thing."
The Coral released their self-titled debut album in 2002. Their follow-up Magic and Medicine topped the chart a year later.
