The former Atomic Kitten star explained that the public no longer know anything about members of pop groups.
"The one thing you don't get as much these days, like you did with Atomic Kitten, is the personality side," she told the Daily Record.
"It seems to be more marketed on sex appeal and how they look but you don't know a lot about the girls in the band.
"I do like The Saturdays. Their songs are great and very catchy. But I don't think there's many avenues to get to know them. Now the gossip is based on how people look and their weight, not so much on themselves."
Hamilton added that she is now looking forward to pursuing a solo career.
"Going solo has always been my ambition since Atomic Kitten finished and I've got the passion, drive and voice," she said. "It is strange when someone asks you an awkward question in an interview as the [Atomic Kitten] girls would come in or, if your mind went blank, you could bounce off one another. But I am excited."
