The rock band were scheduled to show the film at The Hive Venue in Hollywood, but the event was cancelled after a man rushed on to the stage and dropped a suspicious package at frontman Jared Leto's feet.
Leto reportedly grabbed the man and pulled him away from the crowd into a back room. Police then evacuated the building and sealed off the streets around the area.
"Crazy night. I just finished with the police. They cleared 5 blocks + brought in the bomb squad + dogs. We will finish the event tomorrow," Leto wrote on Twitter.
The event has been rescheduled for tonight.
