The singer is said to have surprised organisers of the Earls Court ceremony when she submitted her set design for consideration last week.
A source told The Mirror: "Lady GaGa is usually the one with the flamboyant plans so everyone was braced for some outrageous feat with Beyoncé.
"But this time it was Lily who had the grand designs. She wants it to involve flying. At the moment the idea is to arrive on the stage in a model of an aeroplane."
The insider added: "It's all still work in progress at the moment but they are doing everything they can to make it work. It's going to be magnificent - and cost a fortune."
Allen has been nominated for three awards ahead of the ceremony, which takes place on February 16.
