The group vowed to play a free concert to celebrate their single 'Killing In The Name' beating X Factor winner Joe McElderry's 'The Climb' to the Christmas top spot following a Facebook campaign last year.
"There should be news regarding the free RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE gig late next week," Live Nation promoter and Download Festival booker Copping wrote on his Twitter.
Copping strongly suggested that Rage will also be appearing at the Download Festival this year, which takes place at Donington Park, Leicestershire from June 11 to June 13.
"Patience people," he wrote. "A [Download] announcement will be forthcoming next week, all will be good, you should like what we have. Can't wait for the doubters."
