The Australian singer has started clearing out the home that she shares with fiancé Brian McFadden in Sydney ahead of a planned move to America's West Coast, the Herald Sun reports.
It is thought that Goodrem wants to work with top US songwriters and feels keen to chase her dream after previous attempts to crack America stalled.
Responding to the rumours, the star's rep Jen Fontaine commented: "This year will definitely be a year where she spends a lot of time songwriting in the US.
"She is prepared to spend a lot of time over there but I wouldn't say it was permanent. She has been back and forth a lot in recent times and she is prepared to spend as much time there as necessary to make this album, but she retains interests [in Australia]."
Goodrem released her third album Delta in 2007 and is expected to start promoting a new disc later this year.
