Gabriel previously announced plans for a covers album called Scratch My Back, where he performed songs by a series of acts including David Bowie, Arcade Fire and Radiohead, before they in turn record a rendition of one of his tracks.
However, Gabriel told The Sun today that he is still to hear from Yorke about the project, after he said last month that he would contribute a version of Gabriel's song 'Wallflower'.
"I still haven't had a response from Thom Yorke," he explained. "He originally wrote to say he wanted to do a version of 'Wallflower', but I haven't heard what he thinks of my version of ['Street Spirit']."
However, Gabriel went on to admit that Yorke may have been left unimpressed by his version of Radiohead's track, which has divided fans since it leaked online.
"Not everyone likes it and I've no real idea whether he likes it or hates it. We have a little clue, though," he added. "We gave out codes for the artists to listen to their songs on a stream and we could see how many times they've heard them. I think he's only streamed 'Street Spirit' once, which isn't a good sign, but who knows?"
