Frontman Liam Fray claimed that there is an absence of British rock music in the Top 40, but admitted that he was pleased to see Kasabian getting critical acclaim.
"It's depressing to look at the charts. I'm really pleased to see Kasabian doing so well at the Brits though. Bands like us need to stick together," he told the Daily Star.
The group, who rose to fame with debut LP St Jude in 2007, recently announced the tracklisting for their follow-up Falcon, released on February 22.
The Courteeners new single 'You Overdid It Doll' is out now.
