The group, who are currently in India to perform at the Romanov Red Rock 'n India music festival, claimed that movies including Slumdog Millionaire have increased interest in the genre.
"Bollywood is constantly mentioned in Hollywood. Indian music is very influential and is slowing becoming a rage in the US. Even Indian movies are big there like Slumdog Millionaire," singer Nick Carter told IANS.
The band revealed that they would consider working with Indian acts in the future.
"We are always on the lookout for something new. If it makes an impact on our vision, we are open to any collaboration," Carter added.
The Backstreet Boys reportedly angered heavy metal fans after being announced as the headliner at the festival ahead of Iron Maiden.
