The singer, who released new single 'The Way Love Goes' last week, admitted that he is eager to try out different music genres on his next studio album.
"I did something with Chicane recently which I can't wait to get out," he told the Daily Star. "I'm looking to experiment on my fifth album, so this is a nice way of testing the water."
Lemar, who found success after appearing on Fame Academy in 2002, insisted that artists have to be devoted to enjoy longevity in the music industry.
"It's all about making sure you devote your energy to putting out good music, not the whole celebrity part of it," he said. "There's nothing wrong with falling out of clubs if that's you, but if it's not, then don't."
Lemar releases his greatest hits collection on March 1.
