The American Idol star admitted that he was disappointed when Boyle stopped him from topping the Billboard 200 with his debut LP For Your Entertainment.
"If only it weren't for Susan Boyle! I'm happy for her success, but that album is terrible," he told Gay Times.
The singer went on to level further criticism at Boyle's lead single 'Wild Horses', a cover of the Rolling Stones 1971 hit.
"'Wild Horses' is the one that made me laugh the hardest. I just died when I heard it, I was crying with laughter. It was the most horrendous, sacrilegious treatment of that song!" he said.
Lambert recently revealed that he was inspired by a host of British acts including David Bowie, Freddie Mercury and Robert Plant.
