Gorillaz 'thrilled' to work with The Clash

Murdoc said that he was thrilled when Mick Jones and Paul Simonon agreed to contribute to their latest LP Plastic Beach.
"Gorillaz were always influenced by The Clash - they were always my favourite band," he told the Daily Star.
"I loved how they took the heart and soul of punk and reggae smeared it in London graffiti and paint and then sailed it round the world.
"This record's a proper soundtrack: brass-laden, pimped out, plastic funk, mixing the organic with the plastic to form something new and shiny."
Gorillaz collaborated with further acts including Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, Lou Reed and De La Soul on the record, which is released on March 8.
