The Rage Against The Machine guitarist announced the news via his Twitter page, although did not offer further details about his involvement in the project.
"Is that really me in Iron Man? Of course. Iron Man kicks my ass," he posted.
"I'm working on score for Iron Man 2. Rockin. Movie is awesome."
The soundtrack - which also features AC/DC - will arrive next month.
Iron Man 2 is released in UK cinemas on April 30 and in the US on May 7.
