Gorillaz are currently in the lead in the albums chart battle, the new official midweek charts have confirmed.

'Plastic Beach' faces competition from other new entries such as Boyzone's Brother, which takes second place. Amy MacDonald is number three with A Curious Thing.

In the singles chart, Tinie Tempah is still holding onto the top spot with 'Pass Out', which has continued to fend off competition from Rihanna's 'Rude Boy'.
