Kelis will release her new album Flesh Tone on May 17, her label has announced.

It will be the singer's first release since signing to the will.i.am Music Group - the Black Eyed Peas' star's sub-division of Interscope - at the end of last year.

The album will be preceded on May 10 by 'Acapella', a David Guetta-produced single which is currently number one on the Billboard Club Chart. Kelis recently shot the video in Los Angeles with British director Chris Cottam and fashion photographer Rankin.

The album cover art was also shot by Rankin and a new press shot from their session appears to the right.

Flesh Tone - Kelis's first LP since 2006's Kelis Was Here - also features collaborations with producers including will.i.am, Free School, Boyz Noise, Burnz, DJ Ammo and Benny Benassi. The singer is also said to have been working with British electropop duo La Roux.

Kelis has released four studio albums since making her debut with 1999's Kaleidoscope. In that time, she has notched up eight UK top ten hits with singles including 'Milkshake', 'Caught Out There' and 'Lil' Star'.
