The 24-year-old has agreed a £2m investment deal with Power Amp Music to fund a new album.
According to Billboard, the star has been recording with Grammy Award-winning producer Martin Terefe, known for working with artists Jason Mraz, James Morrison and KT Tunstall.
Church said: "This is a wonderful time to be a recording artist. I am delighted to have signed a groundbreaking deal with Power Amp.
"It provides me with a financial commitment equivalent to that of a major record company, but with a much greater degree of control and ownership over my career."
The contract will also cover other aspects of Church's career, including concerts and publishing deals.
The classical-turned-pop singer released her last album Tissues and Issues in 2005 and has sold more than 10.5 million albums.
