The 23-year-old Florence and the Machine singer revealed that people often don't recognise her, despite her recent success.
"It is amazing to me that the album has reached so many people," she told the Daily Star.
"But I don't really get recognised. I think I'm at the level of fame where people know my album, they know me, but I'm not like, famous.
"Usually it's girls who look like me who stop me. There's quite a lot of red-headed girls come to my gigs."
Welch, who embarks on her biggest UK tour in May, also said it is important to keep her career in perspective.
"I always pay more attention to the negative than the positive, so I keep myself quite grounded that way."
Florence and the Machine's new single 'Dog Days Are Over' is released digitally on April 11.
