The 38-year-old rapper is rumoured to be in discussions with organiser Michael Eavis about playing the event, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in June.
According to The Sun, the hip-hop star is applying for a UK visa after a four-year ban following a brawl at a London airport.
Eavis said that securing Dogg was the brainchild of his daughter and co-organiser Emily, who also booked rapper Jay-Z two years ago.
"Her real claim to fame is booking Jay-Z. She came up with the idea, so I phoned his manager. At the end of a 40-minute chat he said Jay-Z would do the show, and the rest is history," he said.
Noel Gallagher heavily criticised Jay-Z's performance in 2008, claiming that having hip-hop at the festival was "wrong".
