Williams began working on songs with his former bandmates in January after they met up in Los Angeles.
According to The Mirror, the stars were due to continue their collaborations at a Wiltshire recording studio last weekend, but the plans were disrupted when Owen entered rehab for help to beat an alcohol problem.
Owen has come under fire in recent days after being forced to admit that he had cheated on wife Emma with around ten different women before their wedding last November.
Speaking of the impact on Take That's plans, a source said: "They were all heading down [to record], Robbie included, but the plan has been scrapped for now. All they care about is Mark at the moment and it wouldn't feel the same all of them practising for their comeback without him."
The insider added: "All excitement about the future is very much on hold because Mark's got to get better first."
