Animal Collective frontman Panda Bear has cast doubt over the band's future.

The US group - currently on hiatus following a year-long tour promoting 2009's Merriweather Post Pavilion - are considering their options before returning to touring or recording.

In an interview with BBC 6 Music, Panda Bear – real name Noah Lennox – admitted that the band are "exhausted" and "lying low" as a result.

However, Lennox was uncertain about whether the group are definitely going to return, saying: "There have been times in the past when I've thought we were done, so I don't know, this could be it.

"I don't expect it to be, I should say, but you never know."
