The band decided to take a hiatus in 2008, but Kimberly Walsh recently suggested that Coyle is holding up their reunion.
"I think having space from each other is a good thing," Coyle told the News of the World. "People were in each other's faces all the time.
"It's good to have a break so we can see our own friends, who were neglected for the seven years we've been together."
Coyle, who has previously dismissed rumours that she is preventing the group from getting back together, admitted that she hasn't been in touch with the band's management recently.
"I haven't really spoken to anyone in the Girls Aloud camp," she said. "We don't have any plans.
"Everyone was deserving of a break. Some of the girls were older and wanted to relax. Some wanted to do solo stuff. Everyone is entitled to go and do their own things."
