Jack White hails "brilliant" Jay-Z

Jack White has praised rapper Jay-Z following the pair's recent side-project.

The White Stripes frontman claimed that the Blueprint hitmaker stands out in the hip-hop genre.

He told Newsbeat: "We're in the middle of working on some things right now - I think it sounds incredible.

"He's brilliant - there's just no doubt about it. He's the best thing going in hip-hop and has been for years."

The star added: "I could of had five or six years of sitting round doing nothing, getting writer's block or feeling uninspired, but there are new challenges happening for me everyday."
