The 19-year-old singer, who has scored two UK number ones, previously revealed that parts of Turn It Up were meant to appeal specifically to a US audience.
However, executives at her record label have reportedly now decided to alter a third of the tracks on the album to give it a better chance of success.
A source told The Sun: "American execs are chomping at the bit to get hold of British urban acts. But they're not convinced by what they've seen of Pixie so far.
"They are concerned that Turn It Up has only sold about half a million copies. They want to give it a fairly major overhaul before they present her to the public."
