Guitarist Jez Williams told The Observer that he was misquoted when he recently declared that the nine-date nationwide jaunt would "probably" be the Kingdom Of Rust rockers' final tour.
"It is our last tour for a bit. I never said forever," he said.
Brother and bandmate Andy Williams added: "I was like, 'The band are splitting up!? No-one told me'."
The group's greatest hits The Places Between: The Best Of Doves was released today. The release also includes a host of B-sides, rarities and unreleased tracks as well as new single 'Andalucia'.
