Babyshambles have dismissed rumours that they have split after frontman Pete Doherty reformed The Libertines.

Since announcing that his original outfit are reuniting to appear at this summer's Reading and Leeds Festivals, Babyshambles have axed two gigs in York (April 1) and Darlington (April 2).

Doherty was later quoted by Metro as saying that the band "are no more".

However, Babyshambles' management have since told NME that the group are still very much an ongoing concern, saying: "Reports that Babyshambles are no more are categorically untrue."

Drummer Adam Ficek also took to his Twitter account to clear the air. When asked by a fan if the speculation that Babyshambles have split are true, he replied: "It'll all be fine boyo."
